I’m really getting tired of hearing about CTV being a performance channel. I get it. Attribution, conversions, ROAS blah blah. But if your creative is absolute shit, none of it matters. Can we just go back to acknowledging that TV is great for building brands and stop forcing this whole performance TV narrative bullshit.
Me watching marketing teams scramble to replace “Performance TV” with “Full-Funnel TV” across all their sales collateral after yesterday’s social post.

@jf1216 Tv is by far the most powerful medium. What I fear is a downward spiral in performance pricing models that truly kill its value. CTV is king. Let’s not turn it into display.
It’s not that CTV is NOT a performance channel. Obviously it helps drive conversions of one sort or another. It’s the shift I see from the overall industry of only talking about it as a performance channel. It’s just too much focus on performance and not enough focus on creativity.
