@BAYCBoshi @BosCardHunter They will be broken open, and sold in bulk for pennies on the $ to a fence. They might get 500k from 5M worth of slabs. It’s do that or get arrested for trying to sell any of the high value cards on the open market.

Papertrade is slowly rugging its own users🚨 The situation with $PAPER is getting ridiculous For those unfamiliar, Papertrade launched on HyperEVM just 10 days ago, allowing users to trade with 1,000x leverage every time you lost money or got liquidated, you received $PAPER You could then stake those tokens to earn USDC from the protocol’s revenue Well, in its first few days, Papertrade generated $1T in trading volume, with traders losing $54M and $45M distributed in staking rewards Some people were even deliberately losing money to farm PAPER One wallet lost $979K to mint 252M PAPER and received $1.87M in staking rewards within days But yesterday, the team announced some pretty significant changes First, $PAPER won’t be transferable anytime soon Actually, the team said they have no plans to enable transfers outside the protocol at this stage (Remember that users were farming this token expecting it to eventually become tradable) Paragon, which had paid around $45K to secure the PAPER ticker on Hyperliquid’s HIP-3 infrastructure, immediately shut down its market Aster did the same The team is also changing PAPER’s emission model Previously, the initial rate was 100 PAPER for every $1 lost Under the new system, each $1M in eligible losses will mint approximately 0.1% of the existing supply Meaning that as supply grows, more PAPER gets created for the same amount of losses (existing holders get diluted) The team literally acknowledged this in its announcement So imagine being one of the earliest users, losing money to farm PAPER, and suddenly discovering that: - You can’t transfer or sell your tokens - The pre-market where people were trading them has disappeared - Your share of future staking rewards will gradually be diluted - The protocol is changing its fee structure too Now, to be fair, the team has an explanation They argue that allowing people to short PAPER externally could make attacks against the protocol’s liquidity pool profitable But here’s my problem If making PAPER transferable creates such a serious threat to the protocol, why wasn’t that risk properly addressed before people started farming it? And why should early participants accept dilution after taking the biggest risks? Especially when those people have no way to exit their positions

A note on transferability. Papertrade is a complicated primitive, and managing it from a risk standpoint is a complicated problem. The PAPER token is far more integrated into the economics of the primitive than most tokens are in their respective protocols today, and, broadly,

GMMMMM still very much recovering from apefest but super super appreciate all of the kind words and had a blast hosting this community. i know it's become a joke to say, but it's ironically true that the connections we make and the the people we meet are the biggest draw to what we are building. this is no different from other communities that have been built around shared in things with more established social consensus. we are just very to early society understanding and accepting virtual items having real world value. but the world is becoming no less digital so the winds of change are very much at our backs. it will just take time. but whether is is art or collectibles, showing up in person and celebrating our joy of these things is a huge part of how we build lasting movements. i am extremely honored to be able to be a small part of that and can assure you i am just getting started. tldr; STILL HERE. ❤️🦾🙏

Thanks @balajis but we don’t need you to make @farcaster_xyz family-friendly. My 83-year-old mom, my teen daughter, husband, two brothers, nephew and his girlfriend have all managed just fine without your supervision.

@ChrisJourdan There’s been diff lvls to club membership since inception, some good some bad; founders, team/bored members make sense. VIPs/insiders, KOLs don’t imo. Remember how hard assets were traded in the past prior to announcements? Basically layers of extraction inserted above avg apes.

If you’re still using @Ledger after the supply chain failures were revealed, then maybe Ledger CEO being retarded will convince you not to

@MagicalTux @Ledger I should have said that your track record as CEO makes that you lack credibility in judging such events. Your experience of total failure doesn't make you an expert in judging Ledger's situation. And also... You are no white knight. I stand by that. We can talk next week as

@NewsTeleC @Ledger The problems are across multiple domains; supply chain, hardware tampering protection, comms. It’s a rotten apple, trusting them with your keys is unnecessary risk when better options are out there.

@LynAldenContact @crypto_condom Perhaps some are protesting inflation and cost of living but it seems obvious most are rioting in an effort overthrow a system they believe will never give them a seat at the table. You’re talking about economics during a slave revolt.
