Running the very first Unreal on my Power Mac 9500 was a core WOW moment in my experience with computers. I had been playing Doom and Marathon before it, which I thought were already advanced beyond comprehension. Unreal put them to shame. I know this post is about AI but just wanted to say thanks for your work 😎

I’ve been thinking about this a lot. There must be something that 100 developers can build and maintain that 1 developer with AI cannot. But i am having trouble visualizing what that might look like. Very possible that no real examples of it exist yet but they will materialize soon

Ok, I asked Opus 5.5 to do this. In 18 minutes it had written a full SNES emulator in Rust from scratch, loaded the game and it was playable. Wow. This isn't the end goal, but it insists the best strategy is to start with running the original machine code and iteratively porting functionality to Rust. I guess that makes sense. What am I getting into....
has anyone tried pointing a harness to an SNES ROM for a reverse engineer / Rust rewrite? Mega Man X written in Rust currently floating around in my dreams...
