Been a bit under the weather, but started prototyping a spline camera system that can transition in and out of free roam gameplay. Still lots of work and experimentation to do.

Look, I never thought I’d be Team Monoculture… But if your new show/movie needs my eyeballs to survive, and it’s antithetical to the 3 distinct vibes of Oct/Nov/Dec? I love you Ethan Hawke, but no, I will not visit Albuquerque in October.

I'm a Halo modder that Halo Studios hired when planning to bring MCC to PC, and with it, modding support. And last month I re-became a Halo modder after @asha_shar's leadership decided I and others needed to be laid off because our rolls didn't align with the business

Microsoft just announced Xbox Labs, a response to the AI-powered game decompiling we've seen recently. Whether it's skateboarding in CoD or Halo in a browser, Xbox Labs is a new group tasked with exploring this new era of modding. Details 👇theverge.com/news/1010406/x…

@OrevaZSN We had some crazy things going on lurching in from the periphery to remind us that there were still ugly, frightening, and unjust atrocities. But it’s more hindsight than nostalgia that things were better in the US than the subsequent decades.

@theewinterwitch This costume is from a story where Matt successfully argues a Supreme Court win that establishes superhero aliases as separate legal entities. It also allows for superhero testimonies to be admissible in courts.

I think that sometimes, especially for each subsequent generation, these types of bullies, or being under the boot of one is a less ubiquitous experience. But what it felt like to be a child *hunted* by another child used to be what was relatable, not fantastical about King.

@Manny4p Stephen King always writes bullies who always go that extra mile when it comes to cruelty. It's one of his best tropes, but at least he puts some effort into it without making it too over-the-top.

@Srirachachau @OttoFernandez What’s crazy is Perfect Strangers is also the original anchor for ABC’s TGIF programming block; which was pretty much overtaken by more youth oriented programming. Eventually ends up with Bronson Pinchot subsumed into Step by Step as a new character.

Relics of the old world are kind of security blankets, or opportunities to express passion, expertise, or common ground wherein the everyday of modern life has kind of eroded that component/reality.

All the identifiers of adulthood we were raised with are similarly within a holding pattern. And while younger generations grew up never expecting things like home ownership, or long-term employment, we were the generation robbed of it.

I think there’s a few factors here. Nostalgia became a marketing vector with less of a moving target; which is more identifiable because Millennials were the last generation with anchors in shared monoculture…

The Husky @Mr_Husky1

I’m not a millennial, but I’ve always found this interesting. A lot of millennials seem unusually attached to childhood nostalgia well into adulthood. Not just remembering it fondly, but actively revisiting it, recreating it, and sometimes even trying to experience things they
