Recently, NextNav announced a strategic partnership with AiRANACULUS, a developer of intelligent RF, signal processing, and advanced networking technologies, to advance integrated sensing and communications (ISAC) across our licensed lower 900 MHz spectrum. The collaboration will expand our drone sensing and long-range, early warning capability for counter-unmanned aircraft systems (C-UAS) while reducing the amount of infrastructure required for wide-area sensing coverage. We’re excited to welcome Adam Bennett as Vice President of Marketing and Communications at NextNav. Adam brings extensive experience building brands, launching innovative products, and driving growth-oriented communications across the software, telecommunications, and defense technology sectors. He’ll help tell the NextNav story as we continue to build our network and advance a terrestrial complement and backup to GPS. Welcome to the team, Adam!

In recent real-world testing, NextNav achieved single-digit-meter horizontal positioning accuracy using standards-based 5G PRS signals across indoor and outdoor locations. Outdoors, where GPS comparison was possible, accuracy was within one meter of GPS. It’s an important technical milestone for NextNav's terrestrial 5G-powered 3D PNT solution designed to complement and back up GPS. Revisit the results: nextnav.com/worlds-first-5…

Two United flights recently experienced GPS jamming near LAX. Both landed safely, but the incident is a stark reminder that GPS disruption can happen here, too.

Earlier this week, NextNav filed a response to the Security Industry Association (SIA)’s most recent factual misrepresentations about NextNav’s operational 5G PNT Network in Santa Clara County, California. As NextNav's filing shows, SIA has "falsely" equated different units of measurement to mislead the public. See NextNav's Renee Gregory’s statement on the filing below, and read the full filing here: fcc.gov/ecfs/search/se…

Last week, we warned that solar storms pose a serious threat to the systems Americans rely on every day, including GPS. In a highly visual new piece, CNN’s Kasha Patel and Sam Hart show just how vulnerable the United States could be during a severe solar storm, particularly along the East Coast, where grid interconnections and highly resistive bedrock could increase the risk of cascading disruptions: cnn.com/interactive/20… One line says it all:

NextNav announced today initial real-world field validation of single-digit-meter positioning performance using standards-based 5G Positioning Reference Signals (PRS). NextNav's team conducted field testing over the air in both outdoor and indoor environments, achieving single-digit-meter horizontal accuracy using PRS signals transmitted from its 5G PNT Network in Santa Clara County, California. In outdoor environments where GPS comparison was possible, NextNav’s positioning accuracy was within one meter of GPS. Read the full release here: nextnav.com/worlds-first-5…

Twenty-five years later, we remember. Today, we honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, the families forever changed, and the extraordinary courage of the first responders who ran toward danger in service to others. Their bravery, sacrifice, and selflessness will never be forgotten. #NeverForget #September11

GPS is essential, but relying on it alone creates a single point of failure. A one-day GPS outage would cost the American economy $1.6 billion. America needs layers of PNT resilience and a terrestrial complement and backup to protect the systems we rely on every day.

A severe solar storm last November caused GPS readings to veer off by as much as 33 feet. That may not sound like much, but small location errors can create major real-world consequences.
