The officials' calls matter – so get them right.

@AriWasserman It’s pretty nuts that you claim to be unbiased.

And yes, human error is a real thing. But this can’t happen in the final 30 seconds of a game like this. At the end of the day, the officials should have been more attentive to restore the clock, especially on the second example.

On Notre Dame’s final drive, there were multiple occasions where the clock ran longer than it was supposed to: • Out of bounds at 0:27, clock goes to 0:26 • Out of bounds at 0:17, clock goes to 0:15 BYU’s clock operator needs to be investigated.

I hate Notre Dame. I’ve hated them my whole life. But they got absolutely hosed at the end of that game. First the missed blatant PI call and then not putting time back on the clock when there was clearly one second left. It’s actually insane how bad refs have been this year.

@ChrisVannini “Put back on the clock” — the clock operator was milking time all night. Happened on multiple occasions at the end of each half.

Every play time keeper is shaving a second off the clock. 3 feet out of bounds with 16 seconds and clock runs to 15 seconds.

@NDrecruiting01 @GoldeNDomerzz I have the same sentiment and shared it a few minutes before your reply. Felt like BYU was in control for most of the game… seriously lacking playmakers on offense.

This sucks a ton but once again, Notre Dame had every chance to win a big game and let it come down to officiating. Not good.

Two consecutive years of officials missing blatant penalties on the biggest play of the game against Notre Dame.

This is completely unacceptable to be ignored on the last play of a top-8 matchup. Notre Dame completely robbed. This is ridiculous.

@Downtown_Eddy @MySportsUpdate It was 1st and goal. And there was clearly a second left on every game clock.

@Downtown_Eddy @MySportsUpdate That’s false — but if it isn’t, then what is? The TV clock? That also showed 1 second?

As some have noted, there was indeed :01 on the bug clock when the pass hit the ground (BYU/ND). Replay should have reviewed to determine if the in-stadium clock was at :01 at that point and if so, ND would have had one more play.
