3 metrics. There are many more. And also how did we progress in comparison to other ethnic groups. You told me not to be cynical and you ended your statement being cynical.

@StephenStorey Black poverty fell from >50% in the 1960s to ~17% today. High school completion rose from 25% to 90%+. College rates and real incomes also rose substantially. Saying no change is disingenuous. Idc if you vote anymore because I think Trump's 24' win doomed the country and west.

I literally told you how I reached the conclusion. I LOOKED AT THE STATISTICS But if I just vote this one time things will change right? Righhhht

🇦🇷🇦🇷 @MarkIslako

@StephenStorey How did you reach this conclusion? Progress is never linear, but the amount of progress that has been made is absolutely substantial. Can you elaborate more on what you are referring to over here? Throwing the towel now, means just stalling the fight for progress.

Is it cynicism to look at historical statistics over the last 60 years and realize we can’t vote our way out of the bottom of any of those stats or is it realism?

🇦🇷🇦🇷 @MarkIslako

@StephenStorey This level of cynicism is not good. I assume you don't plan to ever vote in the future. The problems from the Trump era don't concern you?

EYE am not at the bottom, my family is not at the bottom And that’s what most important to me, focusing on millions of other people is a waste of time.

To answer your question We would be at the bottom which the majority of us have always been Black people have been at the bottom in every positive metric in this country no matter who we vote for, or how many of us vote for decades.

Both of you have basically said “I am good” why should I actually care about long term consequences or others. And if everyone did that, where would we be? You’re saying the sms r thing as someone in the 60s saying “everybody I know is white, why should I care about civil rights”

Couple things 1st. White men don’t set the standard for what I do with my time. 2nd. If I ever came to your family reunion, I’d be the most successful person there.

Twitter is unique because ambitious, high agency people end up debating what’s possible with timid, risk averse people and both sides mistake their abilities, limitations and life experience for universal truths. The disconnect is these two groups rarely interact in the wild.

My company developed a strategic plan for one of the top five Black banks for business lending, and this largely reflects what I saw. They have invested in products, tech, and credit flexibility. Yet they still struggle to build a pipeline of businesses that can qualify for a loan that can really move a business forward ($250K+) since the average black business is less than 5 years old and has revenue less than $100K. If you are a Black business owner in a high-growth sector (healthcare, logistics, etc.), connect with your local SBA office and Minority Supplier Development Council and use ALL of those technical assistance, contracting opportunities, and relationship building resources to grow your business. Building a creditworthy business takes time. But there are Black banks actively looking for businesses they can finance.

I think it’s important to note that there are many black banks, including one that has over a billion dollar in assets The infrastructure is there but we have to utilize it Secondly, we have to learn wealth extraction because it’s a very important way to build wealth
