Build works on your Mac but fails on Vercel or Netlify with "Module not found"? Check filename case. macOS treats Header.tsx and header.tsx as the same file. Build servers run Linux, which doesn't.
Match each import to the real filename. For a case-only rename, use git mv.
@MrHassanDestiny Netlify drop is the easiest way to start. Two things that trip people up: the main file has to be called index.html at the top level of the folder you drag in, and images or css need relative paths, not paths from your own computer. Get those right and it just works.
@Andy_chiky In my experience it's rarely vanishing. Either the live app is pointed at a different Supabase project than the one they built against, or the migrations never ran on prod. The other classic is RLS getting switched on with no policies, so every query quietly comes back empty.
@code0e That 404 is a rite of passage. On Vercel it's usually one of two things: the output folder setting doesn't match where your build actually puts files (dist vs build vs out), or it's a single page app and deep links need a rewrite to index.html. Which one got you?
Homepage loads, but refreshing /dashboard after deploy gives a 404? That's client-side routing. The host looks for a real /dashboard file and finds nothing.
Netlify: add a _redirects file with /* /index.html 200
Vercel: add a vercel.json rewrite sending all paths to /index.html
@hesselbom Yep, plenty. The ones that make it past launch day tend to sort out the boring stuff early: login redirects pointed at the real domain, Stripe webhooks actually hitting the live site, and row level security switched on in Supabase. That's where most of them stall.
@AKirtesh Hour 6 is so real. When the whole thing 500s right after deploy, it's usually a missing env var on the host side, so the server crashes on the first request. The function logs on Vercel or Netlify will name the culprit pretty fast.
@Emil020304 Ha, the last mile is always the worst part. If it runs fine locally, nine times out of ten it's env vars that never got added on the host, or your auth redirect URLs still pointing at localhost. Worth checking those two first.
Localhost secrets don't show up on Vercel or Netlify by themselves. Before you hit Deploy, open Project Settings > Environment Variables and add every key by hand: API keys, OAuth clients, Stripe secrets. Your .env.local stays on your machine.
