We ran a study comparing the attractiveness judgments of 2,513 human raters to those of four commercial AI models (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok). More masculine faces are not always preferred by women. Scott et al.'s (2014) cross-cultural study of 962 participants across 12 societies found that preferences for dimorphism (i.e., facial masculinity) vary across societies. Blue, white, and pink indicate the proportion of each group that chose masculinized, neutral, and feminized faces as most attractive.
