It's been a while since I was excited by something from AWS but I actually can't wait to try this. If it works as advertised then it's going to simplify application deployment.

YES! It's out it's out, I am SO excited for this! #AWSLambda Web Functions are a game changer! A true HTTP request handler and Each execution environment handles multiple requests simultaneously (up to 128 concurrent requests per environment). Multi-region deploy, and so much

@hustlin_heev Too many people assume retirement means sitting around the house doing nothing. Think of FIRE as enabling you to do what you want without the pressure of needing to generate an income. You can still work or build apps if that's what you want to do.

@cramforce Overloading the language header sounds like a bad idea. You could add an x-programming-language header to achieve the same thing.

@markdalgleish Is it really? When I look at the dependency tree and how many packages it includes I think I'd be doing myself a favour by saying "create a clone of PACKAGE use no dependencies"

@archeologistdev @ryanflorence A perfectly valid response based on the one philosophy course I took at uni. It was trained by one of those groups.

This still hits hard: The most common error of a smart engineer is to optimize something that shouldn't exist.

@petehanssens DevRel goes broad because they're marketing and not sales. They exist to scoop as many people as possible into the sales funnel. The funnel should be segmenting potential customers and filtering people out.

@ryanflorence @thdxr Yeah nah. I learnt Aussie English. It takes a lot to not drop "swear" words into every second sentence. 🙃

@ryanflorence @thdxr It's a great phrase but doesn't that appliy more to indoctrinated people who don't think beyond the slogans they chant. Those we failed to teach critical thinking to.

@aurelienbbn Glad I'm not the only one. It would also be nice if "show more" went back to the old behaviour so I could fill the gap above it. That way when I wake up I can scroll from where I left off

What are your current thoughts when it comes to your programming education right now? I'm not talking about leveraging AI effectively. I mean bread and butter programming concepts. Do you care at all at this point?

@jessethanley @cursor_ai I've been saying that X is going to win for months. It's the classic innovator's dilemma with strong parallels to what happened with insulin. Eventually all models will be good enough and the companies focused entirely on quality will lose to those that focused on speed / cost.
