11 years ago today I was curled up in a ball withdrawing from opioid painkillers begging for it to end. I hated my life. Tonight I’m 10 years and 364 days in recovery. I haven’t had a drink or a drug in 4,014 days. Tonight I’m at a Zach Bryan concert with my two best friends I met in treatment. The same men that were in my wedding. Tomorrow I will have 11 years in recovery. Life is good. Recovery is real.
