Ebbtide @ProjectAliveDev

Scaling up helicopter operations in Ebbtide. 🚁 I’ve been working on helicopter group movement, with different formations and adjustable spacing between aircraft. Here’s a larger transport formation moving across Los Angeles before deploying its squads on the ground. How does the formation movement look? Also, the Steam store page should be ready to go live this week! Sorry for the wait, and thanks for your patience. Early development footage. #indiedev #gamedev

@Milsams Unity 6

I’m excited to finally show you Ebbtide’s operations map. If you’ve been wondering how far the battlefield extends, every battle you’ve seen so far has taken place in and around Los Angeles. The tutorial and Chapter 1 are being built around a fighting retreat across LA, holding successive positions as you fall back toward the Port of Los Angeles. I visited LA a few years ago and practically lived in GTA V. I already knew it was huge, but researching this battlefield made me appreciate its scale all over again. The map covers part of the wider LA metropolitan area. Sorry, Anaheim. I had to draw the line somewhere. These three videos show how commands on the operations map connect to the battlefield: 1. Naval and air support — issue orders to ships, call in fighter support, and follow the aircraft through their flight, turns and attacks. 2. Helicopters — direct an Apache from the map, then dive down to follow its flight over the city. 3. Ground forces — inspect the horde, give your armored units movement orders, and follow the fighting through the streets. When the ammunition runs out, the main gun can no longer fire. It needs resupply. The city is still a work in progress. I’m planning more operations and encounters to fill out the map, along with landmarks to make its different areas more recognizable. I’m also working to minimize loading interruptions when moving between the map and the battlefield. Keeping close-up detail across an area this large is another challenge I’m continuing to work on. What do you think of the operations map so far? Early development footage. #indiedev #gamedev

@greensoldiervn Yes! A macOS version is planned alongside Windows. I’ll share the Mac system requirements once I’ve done more testing. Thanks for your interest and support!

Ebbtide’s Discord is now open! Come chat about the game, follow development, and share your feedback. 👉 discord.gg/JwGQGQFqhD The Steam page is currently under review. I’ll share the link here as soon as it’s live!

@AERVICTOR1 Thank you! That struggle to preserve what’s left of order is a big part of Ebbtide. South Korea is planned as a setting too! I’m focusing on getting the LA opening right first, but I’m looking forward to showing more countries as development progresses 😄

@IliaZevakin You signed up just for this? That really means a lot—thank you! I’m preparing the Steam page and a Steam Playtest, and I’ll announce how to join when sign-ups are ready. I’d love to hear your feedback!

@burakuysall07 Thank you for following along! Getting to build the game I’ve always imagined means a lot to me, and support like yours really keeps me going.

@animegamer9902 Thanks, man! No firm release date yet, but the Steam wishlist page goes live next week 😄 I’m preparing a Steam Playtest first, followed by a public demo before the full release!

@ZeroTwo79107069 Haha, thank you! I’m working on getting it ready for players—Steam Playtest first and after will be public demo!

@Reaven_975 Building destruction is already in! Using the rubble to block routes or crush zombies is a great suggestion. I’d like to explore them.

@Yuunionist That’s a great reference 😄 Holding defensive positions and protecting civilians during the opening chaos is very much part of what I’m going for!

@johnkappa Good catch—thanks for the screenshot! LA is generated from real-world road, building, and elevation data, rather than being a random map. I’m still cleaning up the generated geometry, including intersections and road connections.

Haha, that’s the kind of game I’ve always wanted to make 😄 There are game-speed controls too! Allied AI forces, including the National Guard and local police, help defend positions and protect civilians across LA. In the tutorial and Chapter 1, you’ll command Marines receiving reinforcements from Camp Pendleton.

@Kalinritk Muito obrigado! Estou preparando a página na Steam e um playtest. Vou divulgar os links assim que estiverem prontos 😄

@DeAnonymize Haha, thank you! The Steam wishlist page goes live next week 😄

Yes! LA uses OpenStreetMap data. With my current approach, recreating cities worldwide would require terabytes of generated world data, so I’m exploring better compression. Each chunk needs buildings, roads, and props, while the goal is to move from the operations map into the battlefield with almost no loading interruption. I can’t promise every city, but I’d really love to recreate major metropolitan areas across different countries!

@SkinWulf It’s called Ebbtide! A single-player zombie survival RTS combining direct combat, squad command, FOB building, and a wider operations map. Coming to Steam!

@dundundada72989 That’s a fair concern! There’s a lot here, so I’m taking it step by step and focusing on getting the core systems working well together. Thanks for looking out for the project!
