일본에서 규모 9.9 지진 오보 소동이 일어났습니다. 일본 기상청은 오늘 낮 러시아 캄차카반도 인근서 발생한 규모 6.9의 지진을 규모 9.9로 추정하면서 12시 40분에 긴급 지진속보를 발령했습니다. 동일본 지역에 강한 흔들림이 예상된다는 거였죠. 하지만 8분 뒤 '취소'한다는 문자를 보냈습니다. 일본 기상청이 이런 실수를 하는 건 좀처럼 없는 일인데요. 기자회견을 열어 사과한 뒤 과대 추정하게 된 원인을 조사하고 있다고 밝혔습니다. 사이버공격 아니냐는 기자 질문에 "(일본 기상청) 시스템 담당자 의견으론 공격이 없었다"라고 답했습니다. 규모 9.9의 지진이 실제 일어 난다면, 동일본 대지진보다 22배 큰 에너지가 발생합니다. 하지만 홋카이도 하코다테에서 진도 1의 흔들림이 감지된 것 외에 다른 지역에는 별다른 흔들림이 관측되지 않았습니다.
